Yay me !! My mom and I went to Josephine's Post-Masectomy store and got fitted for a fake boobie for my left side. It is very comfortable and I am surprised how normal it looks and feels :) Then my dear mommy bought me one for my bathing suit. The sales lady said to be sure it is secured before I jump into the water so it doesnt fly out...I busted out laughing thinking just how funny that would be..."Ummm...excuse me...sorry...don't mind that. It's just my left boob."
I also visited my surgeon today to have my stitches removed. She also removed 70 cc's of accumulated fluid. I might have to have that done a few more times. Holy batman you should see the size of that needle...she said it's the largest one they make. It pinched a little, but no big deal. A year and a half ago I would have freaked, but needles just don't seem to bother me anymore...hmmm I wonder why??
I will check in soon!! Enjoy the break from the HOT temps... I know I am!!

You gotta ac-cen-tuate the positive...e-lim-inate the negative...don't mess with Mr. Inbetween
I got my drainage tube out on Monday. It is the first time I have been tube free since April 30th!! Those things are a pain in the butt. Although I have to say that I became pretty good at hiding em. The first thing I did was take the kids to KI water park yesterday!! Good time with the BEST kids a mother could ask for!!
I get my stitches out Tuesday and then they will see me for another month or so then give me a break until my body is ready to try this again (about 6 months from now). Not looking forward to the surgery...not because I do not want the result......after everything I have been through I know I can handle the pain/recovery...just scared it will fail again. I guess with every war that IS WON...there are always battle scars.
Hopefully everything continues to heal rapidly. I feel better one week post surgery than I did the entire 8 weeks following the first surgery on April 30th. So I guess things are looking up!
Thanks again for continuing to follow me and my journey!! I am only winning because I have SO many wonderful soldiers right behind me!!
P.S. Those of you who went to St. Barts may recall my post title from lyrics we used to sing in good ole' music class! Brehm...Mueller twins...Eckerle Twins...Sofia...and so many others...I know you know!! #goodmemories
